  • ½ cup butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare three 8-inch pans.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, combine oil, buttermilk, eggs, coloring, vinegar, and vanilla.
  4. Mix dry ingredients into wet until smooth.
  5. Divide into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes.
  6. Cool layers fully before frosting.
  7. Beat cream cheese and butter, then add sugar and vanilla for frosting.
  8. Frost and decorate as desired.
