- 1 tsp vinegar

- ½ cup butter
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare three 8-inch pans.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa in a bowl.
- In another bowl, combine oil, buttermilk, eggs, coloring, vinegar, and vanilla.
- Mix dry ingredients into wet until smooth.
- Divide into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes.
- Cool layers fully before frosting.
- Beat cream cheese and butter, then add sugar and vanilla for frosting.
- Frost and decorate as desired.
Notes
Chill cake layers before frosting for best results. Gel food coloring is preferred for vibrancy.
