Description

Chocolate cookie cups filled with green frosting, candy eyes, and spooky decorations, Cauldron Cookies are the perfect Halloween party treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 box Devil’s Food cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • Few drops black food coloring (optional)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 13 tablespoons milk
  • Few drops green food coloring
  • 2 tablespoons round green sprinkles
  • 2 tablespoons Halloween sprinkles
  • 1 pack candy eyeballs
  • 12 pretzel sticks


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease mini muffin pans. Gather all ingredients for smooth baking.
  2. Mix cake mix, eggs, oil, and optional black coloring until smooth.
  3. Scoop dough into pans, flatten slightly, and bake 8–10 minutes until edges set.
  4. Press centers while warm with a spoon to form cups; cool fully.
  5. Beat butter, sugar, vanilla, salt, and milk until smooth; tint frosting green.
  6. Pipe frosting into cooled cups to resemble bubbling potion.
  7. Top with sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and pretzel stick halves before serving.

Notes

  • Unfrosted cookie cups can be frozen for up to 3 months. Frost just before serving for best results.
