Description

This peachy French toast bake is the ultimate warm, cozy breakfast—layered with juicy peaches and golden bread in a cinnamon vanilla custard.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices brioche or French bread, 1-inch thick
  • 2 cups sliced peaches (fresh, canned, or thawed frozen)
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1½ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp butter (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange half the bread in dish. Top with half the peaches. Repeat layers.
  3. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Pour custard over bread. Press down gently. Cover and refrigerate 2 hrs or overnight.
  5. Bake covered for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 15–20 minutes more.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Substitute peaches with nectarines or mixed berries. Add chopped nuts for texture.
