This peachy French toast bake is the ultimate warm, cozy breakfast—layered with juicy peaches and golden bread in a cinnamon vanilla custard.
Ingredients
- 8 slices brioche or French bread, 1-inch thick
- 2 cups sliced peaches (fresh, canned, or thawed frozen)
- 5 large eggs
- 1½ cups whole milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp butter (for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Arrange half the bread in dish. Top with half the peaches. Repeat layers.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour custard over bread. Press down gently. Cover and refrigerate 2 hrs or overnight.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 15–20 minutes more.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Substitute peaches with nectarines or mixed berries. Add chopped nuts for texture.
