Description

Soft, fluffy Texas Roadhouse rolls brushed with honey butter, perfect for holidays or family dinners. Easy to make at home.


Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 4 tbsp melted butter, divided
  • 1 large egg, room temp
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose or bread flour (480 g)


Instructions

  1. Heat the milk until steaming, then let it cool to lukewarm.
  2. Mix milk, yeast, and honey; let rest 5 minutes.
  3. Add butter, egg, salt, and half the flour. Mix until smooth, then add remaining flour.
  4. Knead dough 8 minutes until smooth. Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour.
  5. Punch down, roll to ½-inch, fold, and cut into 24 squares. Arrange on greased pans.
  6. Cover and rise 30–40 minutes. Bake at 350°F for 12–15 minutes until golden.
  7. Brush with melted butter and serve with honey butter.

Notes

  • For dairy-free, use oat milk and vegan butter.
  • Freeze unbaked rolls before the second rise for make-ahead.
  • Store baked rolls in airtight container up to 3 days, reheat at 350°F.
