Description

Creamy, melty, and mild, this white American cheese is perfect for sandwiches, wraps, sauces, and more—easy to make and full of comfort.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz mild white cheddar, grated
  • ½ cup milk or evaporated milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp unflavored gelatin (optional)
  • 3 tbsp warm water
  • 1 tsp vinegar or citric acid
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Bloom gelatin in warm water for 5 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt cheese, milk, and butter.
  3. Stir in gelatin, vinegar, and salt until smooth.

  5. Pour into a mold and chill for 4 hours or until firm.
  6. Slice and use as desired.
